Office Administrator
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional, friendly, and well-organised Office Administrator to join our welcoming office team at Senior School Voorschoten.
This varied and engaging role is central to the daily operations of the school and provides a warm, professional first point of contact for our international community. The ideal candidate will be approachable, detail-oriented, and confident working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Handle data entry, reporting, and administration related to student attendance and records with particular regard for safeguarding (Thursday/Friday)
Welcome and assist visitors and respond to general enquiries
Manage incoming and outgoing communications (email, phone)
Liaise effectively with colleagues, students, and parents/guardians
Handle the administration of Parent Teacher Consultations and Parent Newsletters
Assist staff with Reprographics (printing and copying resources)
Prepare key school documents, including reports and certificates
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative or receptionist role; experience in a school setting is an advantage
Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook); experience with SIMS or other MIS platforms is desirable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in spoken and written English
Strong multi-tasking abilities, calm under pressure, and high attention to detail
Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work independently
Flexible and positive team player, adaptable to changing circumstances
The Role:
This is a 3.5-day-per-week role: Thursday and Friday from 8:00 to 16:00, with the remaining 1.5 days scheduled by mutual agreement during the rest of the week.
For clarification, working from home is not possible. This position requires presence at SSV during working hours.

The School:
The British School in the Netherlands is arranged into four separate campuses. The Senior School Voorschoten (SSV0 is a large, modern and very well-equipped campus, which serves international students as well as local students from the surrounding area (aged 11-18 years). The campus is situated between the Hague and Leiden, with excellent public transport, motorway and bicycle connections (10 minutes by train to the centre of the Hague).
