An exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional, friendly, and well-organised Office Administrator to join our vibrant office team at Senior School Voorschoten.

This varied and engaging role is central to the daily operations of the school and provides a warm, professional first point of contact for our international community. The ideal candidate will be approachable, detail-oriented, and confident working in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time position; however, part-time can be considered. Please specify your full-time/part- time preference in your application.

The School:

The British School in the Netherlands is arranged into four separate campuses. The Senior School Voorschoten is a large, modern and very well-equipped campus, which serves international students as well as local students from the surrounding area. The campus is situated between the Hague and Leiden, with excellent public transport, motorway and bicycle connections (10 minutes by train to the centre of the Hague).

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist visitors and respond to general enquiries

  • Handle data entry, reporting, and administration related to student attendance and records

  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications (email, phone, post)

  • Liaise effectively with colleagues, students, and parents/guardians

  • Support Parent Teacher Consultations and prepare newsletters

  • Assist staff with reprographics (printing and copying resources)

  • Prepare key school documents, including reports and certificates

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative or receptionist role; experience in a school setting is an advantage

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook); experience with SIMS or other MIS platforms is desirable

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in spoken and written English

  • Strong multitasking abilities, calm under pressure, and high attention to detail

  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work independently

  • Flexible and positive team player, adaptable to changing circumstances
