Music and Sound Technician
We are looking for a Music and Sound Technician to support the Music Department in delivering the highest quality of teaching and ensuring access to music for all students at Senior School Voorschoten (SSV). This is a part-time position (0.8 FTE).

The British School in the Netherlands is arranged into four separate campuses. The Senior School Voorschoten is a large, modern and very well-equipped campus in Voorschoten, which serves international students as well as local students from the surrounding area.

The post holder will be responsible for:
Maintaining instruments and sound equipment, arranging specialist maintenance when necessary.
Advising on and modernising the Music Department’s technical and workflow processes.
Providing technical and practical support for all Music Department events.
Recording examination components in line with exam board regulations and preparing recordings for submission.
Ensuring musical equipment is available and transported within the school, with assistance where required.
Supporting the upkeep of learning spaces.
Offering technical support and guidance to teachers and students during lessons.
Assisting in the smooth operation of the BSN Sessions school record label.
Ordering and maintaining stock for the Music Department, including instruments where appropriate.
Providing technical sound support for SSV events, including drama productions, examinations, assemblies, and meetings.
Assisting in the preparation of resources related to Music Technology.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Acting as a positive role model and ambassador for music within the BSN community.
Demonstrating flexibility, tolerance, and a supportive approach while understanding students' needs.
Being proactive in supporting students with extracurricular activities (e.g., clubs, ensembles, rehearsals, concerts).
Possessing excellent communication skills and a positive attitude when working with colleagues and students.
Having practical musical skills as a player, singer, composer, or arranger.
Demonstrating knowledge and experience in Music Technology and its application in music production.
Having technical expertise related to Apple Mac computer systems as used in Music Technology.
Desirable Experience:
Experience assisting in classroom lessons.
