The British School in The Netherlands (BSN) is currently looking for a hockey coach to join our Senior School in Voorschoten. The BSN hockey club is for girls from Year 10 through to Year 13.  We currently have more than 40 enthusiastic girls participating in hockey, and have 2 teams competing in the Dutch Hockey League in association with MHC Forescate.  This is the local hockey club in Voorschoten, which currently has over 1250 members.  

The hockey season runs from September to December, and then from March to May with additional opportunities to join the midwinter league and indoor training during the winter break. We have hours available in the region of 4 per week.

Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver training sessions after school, twice per week.

  • Support the development of the whole BSN Hockey Club.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • The ability to plan and deliver training sessions for a variety of ages/skill levels.

  • The ability to organise safe trainings and be responsible for students' well-being during trainings.

  • The ability to work in collaboration with teaching staff and parental volunteers.

  • The ability to establish good relationship with parents.

  • The ability to promote the culture of the BSN, be an excellent role model for students and reflect the high standards of the BSN.

  • In possession of or working towards an up to date first aid qualification.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Hockeytrainer 2 (HT2) – Elftal or equivalent coaching qualification or suitable coaching or playing experience.

  • Experience of playing a high level of hockey representatively.
