We are looking for a full-time qualified teaching assistant to join our exciting Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL), a new campus within the BSN school, benefiting from the vision, security and systems of an established school whilst offering a huge opportunity to those who want to have a pioneering impact on the lives of our students. The school opens in September 2018 with its first cohort of Year 7 students. They will form the first two Tutor Groups of the school and, alongside you, will hold a very unique position in the history of SSL.

You will be integral in getting this right from the start through your skills and knowledge as a Teaching Assistant to ensure we deliver the very best education for all the young people who deserve nothing less than the best. This will initially be a 12 month contract.

As a Teaching Assistant you will have a wide impact across both groups primarily supporting the inclusion of small groups of students by;

  • Helping them record work in an appropriate way.
  • Developing study and organisational skills.
  • Helping to reinforce learning.
  • Building students’ confidence.
  • Promoting the inclusion of the students within the class.


Other duties will involve;

  • Helping to set up and maintain a safe and conductive learning environment e.g keeping the classroom in good order and creating displays of students’ work.
  • Helping to supervise children in the classroom and other designated areas.
  • Assisting the teacher(s) in charge with the monitoring and evaluating of the development of students.
  • Having clear lines of communication with the responsible teacher(s).
  • Providing regular feedback to the teacher(s) of the progress of the students.
  • Participating in the provision of extra curricular activities.
  • Carrying out other duties as timetabled or when necessary.


Whilst building work continues, classes will be taught in a mixture of modern temporary classrooms placed on site, as well as sharing specialist facilities, such as Science labs, Food Technology rooms with the Junior School. The first phase of work is due to be completed in during the school year 2018/19.
