Multimedia Technician - Maternity Cover


We are looking for a part-time (40% FTE) Multimedia Technician to join our Senior School in Voorschoten and cover maternity leave from 1 August or earlier. You  must be available for at least 3 full days of training prior to 13 July. 

You will work alongside our present AV Technician in providing technical support in all areas of the school. The role will include attendance of performances and events which sometimes occur outside the normal working hours, so flexibility is essential. You will have good multimedia skills such as the ability to use SLR and digital video cameras, and analogue and digital mixers. The job will require common sense, self-motivation and being able to work under pressure. We are looking for a candidate who will seek ways to develop multimedia and AV in the school. 

The school uses a variety of computer platforms and programmes (e.g. Windows 7, Microsoft office 2010, OSX El Capitan, OSX Yosemite, OSX mavericks, iLife, iWorks and training will be given where needed. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Digital signage: Create rolling PowerPoint presentations for information screens around the school.
  • Photography, filming, editing and film making.
  • Audio recording, sample creation, editing and copying.
  • Educational TV recording, editing and posting on school library system.
  • Audio exam transfer, copying and posting.
  • Performance and events including full rock concerts, classical performance, plays, musicals, conferences, assemblies and presentations. (Sometimes outside of school hours and at outside locations).
  • Technical support for AV in all areas of the school.
  • Loaning and upkeep of multimedia equipment including cameras, video cameras, iPads, microphones and headphones.
  • Marketing support.
  • IT support. Resetting passwords for school login, assistance with apple ID and basic iPad problems. Help with iPad rollout.
  • Purchasing and care of multimedia supplies and equipment.
  • Research, purchase, installation or manage installation of screens and audio around the school.
